REVIEW: Bathbox – April 2018

Taking a bath is one of my favourite things ever, so Bathbox is basically my perfect subscription box.

The concept is pretty simple: every month you get a lovely selection of bath-related items, including bath bombs, soaps, bath salts and more. It costs £9.99 plus £2.99 P+P.

Isn’t that a lovely box? OK, there was a shipping label on it, but I painstakingly removed it because I wanted you to see the box is all its glory. I especially like the ‘Warning: Pretty Things Inside’. My anticipation levels are high!

Well, this is a great start! Guaranteed happy feels from this.

On the other side of that cheery greeting is the menu. Details of each item, RRPs, and even ingredients.

Under the tissue is all this pink shred, and I can catch a little peek at the goodies inside. Plus there are wonderful smells floating up from inside!

Ylang Ylang, Lemon and Orange Bath Salts. These are lovely relaxing essential oils, and this is a great scent combination. According to the instructions the oils require at least 20 minutes to be absorbed. As I can easily spend well over an hour in the bath, this isn’t going to be a problem!

Moon Cake Bath Bomb. This sweet-smelling bath bomb looks like a little bundt cake! I’ll resist taking a bite out of it, but I’ll be happy to smell like a cake after taking a bath.

Pink Panther Hand Crafted Soap. I love the bright colour of this soap slice, and it will look lovely by the bath! It has quite a traditional ‘soap’ smell, and it foams up nicely.

Puppy Paw Bath Bomb. This has a high cute factor. According to the menu it comes in various scents, but this one smells like strawberry sherbet to me! It also creates a light foam.

Doughnut Bath Bomb. This looks like the kind of doughnut a unicorn would eat! It contains grapefruit and ylang ylang essential oils, and produces a lovely glittery foam. Magical!

Wild Raspberry Candle. As far as I’m concerned, no bath is complete without candles. This one has a lovely fruity smell, and is going to look lovely in the fireplace.

OK, this box might as well have been designed especially for me. A box full of delicious-smelling things for the bath? Perfect.

While I’d be happy with just bath bombs, I actually appreciate having soap that will last for longer than just one bath! All the relaxing smells are very welcome. My baths are always at the end of the day, so maximum relaxation is required.

I think all the bombs are lovely, but I’m most excited about the unicorn (OK, doughnut) bomb. I’ve often looked longingly at glittery bath bombs, but never actually bought one. This is the perfect excuse to try one out!

The addition of a candle is very thoughtful. I think all bath aficionados appreciate the importance of candles for the full bath experience, so having a candle is either a welcome addition to the stash, or an introduction to next-level premium bathing.

I think this would be a lovely gift for a friend or loved one, especially someone who has a lot of stress in their life. However, this is all for me, and I’m going to enjoy every single item in it! Now, all I need is a glass of wine…
