Quick blurb: Lootaku is a premium monthly subscription based service to fulfill everybody’s geeky addictions. Our box features full figure statues and Asia exclusives that you will not find in any other subscription box. We promise no filler or promotional items, and our values are always based on current cheapest prices on Amazon.

Prices and values on the Lootaku website are given US dollars. A one month subscription is $44.99 (three and six month subscriptions are cheaper). At current exchange rates this is £34.74 UK Shipping is $17.66 (£13.64). Slightly pricey, but this is a premium box. Also it’s coming a long way.

1-month subscription total: £48.38

This month’s theme has been hotly anticipated on Lootaku’s Facebook page. This is their second Game of Thrones-themed box, and the fans have been out in force!

It’s also perfect timing with Season 7 of Game of Thrones premiering at the beginning of August.

This is the Lootaku shipping box. I think it looks awesome in general, but the idea of a mysterious chest filled with loot works particularly well in the fantasy world of Game of Thrones.

I can see something GoT related on the right, but I wonder what it has in store?

Night’s Watch Tournament Banner Review: Lootaku July 2017 - Valar Morghulis Game of Thrones

This is what it is. It’s an official HBO licensed item.

This picture gives you some idea of the scale of this Night’s Watch Tournament Banner. It measures around 5ft in height. It’s fabric, and you can see the Night’s Watch Oath printed on it.

Next time you have a GoT party this will be the perfect accessory!

Hand of the King bottle opener Review: Lootaku July 2017 - Valar Morghulis Game of Thrones

Speaking of parties, this is another handy accessory. What better way to crack open a beer than with a Hand of the King Bottle Opener?

Coin of the Faceless Man Review: Lootaku July 2017 - Valar Morghulis Game of Thrones

You can’t pay for your drinks with these Coins of the Faceless Man, but they will get you into Braavos.

Dragon's Egg Review: Lootaku July 2017 - Valar Morghulis Game of Thrones

Next up, this beautiful Dragon’s Egg. There were three possible options: Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion.

This one is Drogon, with tan, gold, and red colouring.

It comes with a small clear plastic stand for display.

I’ve saved the best item for last.

Remember that big block of white polystyrene in the open box picture?

This was inside.

A magnificent replica of the Iron Throne.

This is a truly superb item, one of the best Lootaku has ever produced.

Look at that detailing on the back.

I can also tell you that those points are sharp. Not ‘draw blood’ sharp, but enough that I managed to jab myself a couple of times when I was unpacking it. I quickly realised it needed quite careful handling!

This should give you some idea of scale. As Lego has not yet seen fit to release a Game of Thrones line, I had to improvise.

It’s remarkably heavy and made, I think, of resin.

The attention to detail is superb. This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen from Lootaku.

Finally, the menu card.

Review: Lootaku July 2017 - Valar Morghulis Game of Thrones

It contains a good amount of detail about each item, as well as their values.

I never take the values at face value, because this is a box from Hong Kong and often their items are Asia-exclusive or at least extremely difficult to find in the UK. Also I find you can never reply on RRP for anything. That being said, I’ve not yet valued the contents of one of their boxes at less, or even equal to, the price of their subscription.

I’ll start with the contents value as I can find out. I use an online currency converter so they’re correct at time of writing. I can’t always take into account shipping costs of individual items, but I do my best to be fair.

Often I can find things on Amazon, but some of the items in Lootaku boxes are virtualy impossible to source in the UK, so sometimes I have to guesstimate. I also don’t use eBay as reference, as I find prices are not reliable or realistic.

We saw at the top that the monthly subscription is £48.38.

Iron Throne: I found an extremely similar, if not identical item on Amazon for £50.90 with Prime delivery.

OK, so that’s the box value and then some.

But to continue.

Dragon’s Egg: There are a ton of dragon’s eggs on the internet but I couldn’t find the identical one. So I’m going to call this £10.

Bottle Opener: Again, couldn’t find the exact one, so I’ll say £5.

Coins: There are loads of these around. I’ll call it £5 again for both.

Banner: This is an official HBO licensed item, and on Amazon it costs £17.85.

Total:  £88.75

You really get tremendous bang for your buck.

Lootaku is primarily an amine/manga subscription box, with some gaming thrown in for good measure. However once in a while they go off-piste, and delve into a different category of geekdom.

This is one of their best non-Asian themed boxes. Even though technically the value isn’t quite as high as some previous boxes, the selection is fantastic. The Iron Throne replica is such an incredible item it’s worth the cost all by itself.

One of my favourite things is actually the bottle opener! I love having geeky stuff in my house I can actually use, and this bottle opener works just as it should.

I understand Game of Thrones parties are becoming quite popular, especially with the release of a new series. I’ve not been invited to any, probably because with a small child I don’t do that much partying! But there is so much scope in this box for using these items both for regular display and for a special occasion.

Lootaku has hit the ball out of the park with this box. I’m incredibly impressed.
