Mila & Pheebs create stationery and activity boxes for children. They contain a mixture of stationery, crafts, stickers, and fun items, based around a different theme each month. It’s £10 per month plus £2.99 P&P.
This month’s theme is Food Frenzy! As always, my lovely helper and enthusiastic tester is my daughter, Little C. She’s seven, and loves anything craft and stationery-related.
On top of the box is the contents menu and newsletter.
I love the colourful newletter! Great jokes, trivia, and other fun stuff.
Lots of goodies in there!
Here are a couple of cute crafty things! Everyone is familiar with scratch art, where you scrape off the covering to reveal colours. There’s also a design-your-own pizza.
There’s a magnet to stick on the back so you can put it on the fridge as a reminder to eat more fruit!
Little C doesn’t actually like pizza, but she certainly enjoyed making a pizza face with the food stickers! There are plenty left over too.
Every child loves gel pens, and these are even scented! They’re great for the colouring sheets and wordsearch.
The pens are also perfect for making your own greetings cards. Every Mila & Pheebs box contains a couple of blank cards, so you’ll never be short of a birthday or holiday card!
Does your child love cooking? Or eating out? This is a blank menu for them to design and create their own restaurant menu! Let’s hope there’s more than pizza…
No pizza on this menu!
Another regular Mila & Pheebs item is stickers. These funny food faces are sturdy stickers. Decorate your menu, add them to the greetings cards, there are all kinds of things to use them for! I particularly like the angry watermelon.
Another craft kit is this Ice Cream Pompom.
This required a little more help than usual with the the wool cutting, but the pompom came out perfectly.
It came with stickers to make a face, and turned out very well!
Yummy!
Finally, this month’s iwako eraser. These little collectible Japanese erasers are incredibly cute, and of course they’re far too nice to use! Don’t those fries look delicious?
We are always excited when a Mila & Pheebs box comes through the door! The boxes are almost entirely self-contained, and while supervision and assistance is sometimes necessary, there are plenty of things kids can get on with by themselves.
You could keep these stashed away for a rainy day, and as they take up very little room it would be a great thing to take away on holiday or on a long journey. Add some colouring pens and extra paper and there’s plenty to keep a child occupied for quite a while! It would even make a very superior party bag.
The blank cards are an especially good idea, because I think making and sending personalized greetings cards is very important; it’s great for kids to remember the importance of pen and paper.
This is primarily aimed at children from around age six, but I think younger children would enjoy this very much. Stickers, colouring, craft activities, all these things are great at almost any age!
There’s a lot of fun to be had is this month’s Mila & Pheebs box! I really like the food theme, and while you could use some of these activities to have some good conversations with your kids about balanced eating, it’s not at all preachy. Besides, who doesn’t like fries?
