Review: Mud & Bloom May 2018

Once again I’ve been getting very behind with our gardening activities. Half term passed by in a flash, especially as we were away for some of it, so I don’t have as many pictures of this as I’d like. However our little planting and nature adventures are continuing, even without photographic evidence, so take a look at what was inside the May Mud & Bloom!

Mud & Bloom Review May 2018

There were two lovely crafts to make this month. A nature loom, using twigs, twine, and flowers and plants picked on outdoor adventures! There was also a crown and mask to decorate!

This month’s seeds were great for looking ahead – pumpkins and sweet peas.

As always you also get four little peat pellets, which you soak in water and then use to plant the seeds.

As we’ve run out of mini pots we’re going down the biodegradable route and using egg boxes as seed planters!

There they are all planted up. Hopefully they’ll sprout soon and we can transfer them to the garden!

As always, Mud & Bloom provide lovely ideas and is a wonderful way to introduce the joys of gardening. I’m not at all good with plants an gardens, so I’m frequently impressed at the plants we’ve managed to grow!

The nature activities are perfect to encourage getting outside and exploring the world around you, and you also get lovely information cards and quizzes to help spot what’s happening in nature at this time of year. Even very tiny children can get involved, there is really no age limit to this!

Here’s a little update:

We planted out our tomatoes, nasturtiums, and peas! It’s exciting to see our little plants outdoors at last!
