Japanese women are very serious about their skincare, so this subscription box is always a treat! Subscriptions start from $27.50 (around £20) per month, and you can get more details here.
The weather has been cold and wintery, which always makes my dry skin miserable. I’ve really been hoping for some more moisturizing products, and it looks like I might be in luck!
This is a well presented box, very sturdy, nice branding, and never any problems with damage. On top you can see their menu booklet.
This contains details about each product, plus the social media community and giveaways.
This is Colour Mud Pack, a fun coloured face mask that you can use to paint your face! I have the Charcoal Black, but there are also Peach Rose, Leaf Green, and Drop Blue as possible options.
Each one has a bergamot scent, and this charcoal version is formulated to clear pores and moisturize the skin.
There’s some serious colour going on with this Metallic Lip Gloss.
There were three possible options: Bubbly Pink, Sweet Cherry, and Queen Red.
This Queen Red is the deepest colour! It really does have a vivid metallic shine to it.
Profael Oil & Water W Essence is a two-layered product, which you shake to mix.
The oil mixture can be used on body and face to moisturize the skin.
Kumawash Eye Lift Wash claims to remove dark circles under your eyes.
It’s actually a bar rather than a cream, and contains AHA and collagen.
This Country & Stream Honey Hand Cream is a great winter product! It’s incredibly soothing, and a delicious honey fragrance.
I’m really glad to have some moisturizing products this month. The moisturizing oil works incredibly well, it’s rich and I can definitely feel it soothing my skin. I’ve not yet tried it on my face, but it works great on the legs after shaving!
The face mask is very nice, though I’m slightly disappointed I didn’t get one of the brighter colours. However charcoal masks are pretty popular at the moment, so at least I can feel fashionable! (And if you’re really lucky I’ll post a picture on Instagram!)
The lip gloss is a fabulous colour but it’s not really me. However I am very impressed with the depth of colour and the metallic sheen. If this is your look then you’ll love it!
The facewash is an intriguing product. I had expected it to be a tube, so was slightly surprised when the bar popped out! I’m not convinced that it will get rid of dark circles, because those circles aren’t dirt, however as a general facewash it is very nice indeed. Even though it looks like a bar of soap, it doesn’t dry out the skin like soap usually does.
As for the hand cream, you can’t go wrong with that, especially at this time of year! It feels great and smells lovely.
As to value, I’m not going to do a breakdown because products in the nomakenolife boxes are generally difficult to source outside Japan, so finding prices is near-impossible. Oddly enough, I did find the hand cream on Amazon for £12.59, but I’m confident that this box gives you excellent value for money.
I don’t always love everything in it, especially as I tend to prefer skincare rather than makeup, but I’m always pleased to see what they come up with every month!
Have a beautiful winter!
