Japanese women are very serious about their beauty products, so this subscription box is always a treat!
I’ve seen a couple of intriguing spoilers on social media, so I’m very curious to see what’s in the box this month.
On top is the menu booklet.
The layout has changed this month, it looks even better!
There’s much more information now.
Country & Stream Apple First Essence. Country & Stream has two lines, Honey and Apple. February’s box contained a lovely hand cream from the Honey range, and this month nomakenolife has included a product from the Apple line. Skin essences of this type are very popular in Japan at the moment, and are designed to be applied every day before moisturizing. This one contains apple stem cells and fruit acid.
Canmake Lucent Sherbet Eyeliner.
This is a gel eyeliner in bright pink.
It’s a remarkably bright colour, though it applies quite translucent and shimmery. It’s also waterproof and easily blended, as well as containing moisturizing ingredients.
This Hello Kitty Bath Bomb is perfect for a kawaii bath! It’s one of two options, this one being peach scented. It also contains collagen and hyaluronic acid to moisturize while you bathe.
I love sheet masks and I love red wine. This My Melody Sheet Mask helpfully combines both! I can’t read the packaging, but I’ve looked up red wine masks, and apparently red wine extract is great for reducing pores and tightening skin.
Now we’re really going off-piste! The crazy-looking device is a Face Lifting Exercise Mask.
Apparently you hold it in your mouth twice a day and it pushes your cheeks and jawline up, tightening the face and lifting the smile. Well, I’m not sure about that, but it’ll sure make a funny Instagram picture!
Finally, we have another fun and crazy item: Beauty World Slim Cat Mask.
This silicone mask is designed to be worn on top of a sheet mask, so you can walk around the house and not worry about it sliding off. You can find quite a few versions of this, but they tend to be plain. This cat design is much more fun! It is also shaped very well with the two extra ear hooks, so it fits around your chin properly. Apparently it is also infused with geranium and tourmaline so you can wear it alone for a steam-spa effect.
Well, we’ve definitely got some fun items this month!
As usual, I’m least enthusiastic about the makeup, as my cosmetic style is slightly more conventional. But I don’t doubt the quality is pretty nice.
I love baths, so I’m really happy about the bath bomb. Funnily enough there’s a bath bomb in this month’s YumeTwins box so it’s like they’ve done a little crossover thing going! (YumeTwins, nomakenolife, and TokyoTreat are all part of the same parent company.)
I like the skin essence very much, it has a nice scent and it feels very soothing on my skin.
The sheet mask is fantastic, as is the silicone mask cover. I think I feel a bath/mask/wine Instagram post coming on pretty soon!
And as for the duck face thing, I admire the chutzpah! I’ve no idea what I’m going to do with it, though I’m tempted to offer it to my mother; she’s always complaining about aging skin.
Value-wise, it’s impossible to do a complete breakdown because all these products come from Japan so are not easily sourced. However after some poking around on Google I found the duck mouth and the silicone mask for around a fiver each, and the eyeliner for a little over £8. Bear in mind these did not include shipping! Given that the box costs around £20, the value is pretty damn good.
This is a great box this month, really creative and varied. Stand by for some crazy Instagram pics!
