Getting a new nomakenolife box is always exciting! Japanese women are very serious about their skin, and their beauty products are always wonderful quality. nomakenolife review May 2018 Japanese skincare subscription box nomakenolife review May 2018 Japanese skincare subscription box

Spring is sakura season in Japan, and to celebrate, May’s box has a special sakura theme!

The menu booklet tells you about each item, plus a little about Japanese skincare in general.

This set consists of Body Cream, Bubble Bath, and Bath Sponge. The Sakura Aromatica series is a collaboration between Disney and the Japanese fragrance company NOL. These products have a lovely blossom scent, and the Rapunzel design and kawaii pink aesthetic is very popular in Japan.

Argan Oil Foot Mask nomakenolife review May 2018 Japanese skincare subscription box

Argan Oil Foot Mask.

Foot masks are very popular in Japan, just like masks for the face. This one contains Argan oil which softens and hydrates the skin. Perfect for getting your feet ready for summer!

Mitomo Japanese Art Sakura Sheet Mask nomakenolife review May 2018 Japanese skincare subscription box

Mitomo Japanese Art Sakura Sheet Mask.

This lovely sheet mask contains sakura essence, which is known for skin repairing properties, and also aloe, which hydrates and softens the skin. This brand also uses only 100% cotton for their masks. The packaging is also very pretty, with the traditional art style ukiyo-e design.

What a lovely seasonally themed box this month! From the sakura design on the menu booklet, to the sakura scents and essences in the contents, this is definitely one of my favourites so far.

The soap, while not very large, would be lovely to have by the bathroom sink, or even in the guest bathroom. It smells lovely and looks incredibly attractive.

The Disney bath set is very cute, and while I’m not the biggest fan of that aesthetic, both cream and bubbles smell wonderful. Those net bath sponges are also very useful, they make soap and shower gel foam up incredibly well.

I don’t get manicures because I keep my nails very short (no long nails playing the violin!), so I might experiment with the sparkly nail stickers on my toes instead! I absolutely love getting pedicures, and think that once the warm weather arrives it’s important to have your feet looking nice.

Which brings me nicely to the foot mask. I can’t wait to try this out! I’ve never tried a foot mask, but now the weather has cheered up and I’m wearing sandals, my feet definitely need a bit of improvement after the long winter trapped in shoes!

Not only a foot mask, but a sheet mask too! I’m always happy every month a sheet mask is in my nomakenolife box, because they are one of my favourite things ever. And yes, as usual I’ll be posting on Instagram when I try it out! (Did you see the crazy cat mask from the March box?)

The products from nomakenolife are generally difficult to impossible to find outside Japan. For this reason I don’t do a price/value breakdown. However I’m always confident that the value is excellent, and the quality is always terrific.

I’m looking forward this month to drifting around on beautiful soft feet trailing the scent of cherry blossom behind me!
