It’s Easter right at the beginning of April, and YumeTwins has some lovely seasonal items this month!
Subscriptions start at $35 (£29.50) per month. Read on to see what’s inside April’s box …
Look at the cute bunny on the front of the menu booklet!
Of course there’s a full list of contents, so skip past this fast if you don’t want a preview!
As well as competitions and social media pages, there’s also always some fun information about Japanese kawaii culture!
Anyway, enough of this, let’s see what’s in the box!
This month’s plushie is a gorgeous soft My Melody!
She’s apparently the first of a series of three Sanrio character plushies featured in YumeTwins.
She’s incredibly soft and huggable. Apparently this type of plushie is called a roll plushie. I can see why!
This Hoppe-chan Squishy is the first character squishy in a YumeTwins box!
Hoppe-chan is a kawaii character that is wildly popular with girls in Japan. No one seems to know exactly what she is, but this little drop-shaped character is certainly super-cute!
Poteusa Loppy is a cute little bunny character. There was a Loppy plush back in November’s box, but this is, obviously, something else. It looks like nail polish.
But actually it’s a highlighter pen! This bright orange is one of five possible colours. I’m very glad I got the orange because it will go very nicely with the yellow highlighter from February’s box.
These cute My Melody sponges are definitely going to cheer me up every time I have a full kitchen sink.
There’s four of them, so they’ll last a long time. They’re proper sponges too, not just novelty items, and they really do work. Doing the dishes has never been so kawaii!
If you’ve read my other reviews you’ll have realised that I love Gudetama! This is a lovely little pad of to-do list notes.
Look at the cute little lazy egg! The only thing that would make them more perfect is if they were sticky notes. However they are a great size to put on the fridge door, or tape inside your journal.
This last item is interesting.
It’s a Hoka Hoka Japanese Egg Boiler, otherwise known as a Onsen Tamago Maker. Onsen tamago means, literally ‘hot spring eggs’.
This is from the menu magazine, and tells you a bit more about it. You can also read about this way of cooking eggs here.
Apparently there are instructions on the side of the box as to how long you should cook your eggs, but unfortunately they are in Japanese! Anyway, I’ve learned something new about Japanese cookery, and I might have a go at using this when I’ve done some more research!
The two main Easter-themed (ish) items this month are the Gudetama pad and the egg cooker. Bunnies also have an association with Easter, so I guess we can include the highlighter and plushie too!
Guess who else loves the plushie?
The one thing I’m not so crazy about is the egg cooker. I think it’s an interesting item, but it doesn’t strike me as really kawaii, and it doesn’t do anything that a saucepan and lid can do! I can see why it’s been included, I just think that this is one of the very rare occasions when they’ve misread their audience.
But as for the rest, I love them! The sponges are both cute and very useful (though I might have to save one to keep rather than use!) and they go very nicely with the duster in last month’s box!
I’m not crazy about squishies, but I know people who do, and I like gifting things I can’t use myself.
The plushie is of course, gorgeous. It kind of makes me think of a marshmallow in shape. I can’t wait to see the next two in the series!
And of course, Gudetama. I’m am a great writer of to-do lists, and these little notes are going to make them so much more fun!
Once again, a great cute and practical combination, and even if the egg cooker is a bit of a miss, everything else is more than lovely! Happy Easter!
