Last month was Halloween, and now it’s time for Christmas cards! The festive season is creeping ever closer, and My Greeting Box has three gorgeous designs to make this month to send out to loved ones this Christmas.
I had to show you the box, because this month’s it’s sealed with gold tape, which looks pleasingly lavish. The box itself fits through the mailbox, which is incredible give how much is crammed inside.
The card designs.
This month’s technique is using needle and thread to sew designs onto the card. Makes a nice change from sewing on name tapes!
The instructions are excellent, clear and easy to follow. I’ve made quite a few cards by now, and any mistakes have all been my own fault for not following the instructions properly!
Look at these beautiful geometric acrylic stamps. There is also plenty of beautiful cardstock, including coloured card, iridescent vellum, and glitter card. Top it off with a sheet of gold jewel accents and a gold inkpad.
The card blanks are a beautiful ivory colour, and the envelopes are gold. Also included is a gold gel pen, which for some reason I didn’t photograph.
Here’s everything you need for the sewing part. Embroidery floss, needles, a needle threader and an awl to make holes in the card.
A thoughtful inclusion is a cutting mat to avoid making holes in your crafting surface.
Need I say how much I love these designs?
I love the classy geometric shapes. The bright colours are a nice change from the traditional Christmas red and green. Don’t get me wrong, I love those colours, but I think the pops of colour make these designs stand out as really original.
You’ve got everything you need to make the cards, and the quantities of cardstock and decorative items are very generous. You even get extra card blanks to make extra cards.
Every month I’m impressed by My Greeting Box. I’ve made such beautiful cards despite my limited knowledge of art and craft, and for anyone who wants to explore papercraft this is the perfect way to start.
